    Academic Background

    Ms McClellan is a monitoring and evaluation specialist and experienced researcher in the field of international development with a focus on economic development in sub-Saharan Africa. She has 8 years of experience designing and conducting field studies, collecting and analyzing data, training team members, and publishing work in international, high-impact journals. Ms McClellan has lived in and worked extensively throughout west, east, and southern Africa, where she has worked closely with villagers, health care professionals, teachers, conservationists, agriculture extension agents, government officials, and employees of non-governmental organizations. She is knowledgeable in the fields of development economics, health economics, agricultural economics, statistics, qualitative and quantitative analysis, education, global health, natural resource management, Sahelian agriculture, sanitation and hygiene, maternal and child health, and small business development.

    Publishing History

    Ms McClellan has co-authored two peer-reviewed papers and one peer-reviewed study protocol in the Lancet and Lancet Global Health. She has co-authored a study, presented as a poster, at the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene Annual Meeting. She has been the invited presenter at the Millennium Villages Project Research Series three times.

    Editing and Reviewing Experience

    Ms McClellan has served as a peer reviewer for the Bulletin of the World Health Organization. Ms McClellan joined Edanz Group as an editor in 2020.

    Writing Experience

    Ms McClellan has written multiple reports on her research for a variety of audiences: national and local governments; United Nations agencies; donors; non-governmental organizations; and university scientists. She honed her writing and editing skills as an undergraduate history major at Yale University.
