Dr Sole has more than 30 years of hydrometallurgy and process chemistry experience, with specialist expertise in solvent extraction, ion exchange, electrowinning, and analytical chemistry. After working for many years for research organizations in South Africa, she now consults independently, with clients in the USA, Chile, Zambia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Namibia, Belgium, Australia, and Kazakhstan. She has authored or co-authored over 80 peer-reviewed publications and is a co-author of Extractive Metallurgy of Copper (5th edn., 2011), the benchmark industry textbook. Dr Sole has served on the Editorial Boards of the journals Hydrometallurgy, Minerals Processing and Extractive Metallurgy Review, and Solvent Extraction and Ion Exchange, and has chaired two international conferences. She has been awarded the Silver Medal of the Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and the Bronze Medal of the South African Association for the Advancement of Science. Dr Sole joined the Edanz Group as an editor in 2014.
