    Academic Background

    Dr Acevedo-Rodriguez has extensive neuroscience research experience with a primary focus on stress signaling and animal behavior to probe questions important for psychiatric populations. Her thesis research was to study the anxiolytic mechanism of estrogen receptor beta activity. Her expertise is in rodent neurophysiology, dopamine and serotonin signaling, psychiatric disorders, rodent behavior, and neuroendocrine topics such as steroid hormone and hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal (HPA) axis signaling.

    Publishing History

    Dr Acevedo-Rodriguez has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed papers and one first-author paper, and is first author on two reviews. She has presented her research at domestic and international conferences.

    Dr Acevedo-Rodriguez has edited numerous documents, including manuscripts, theses, and grant proposals for colleagues and fellow students during her time as a graduate student.
