Dr Truckenbrod’s caseload as a veterinarian encompasses many areas of clinical medicine, including preventative medicine (wellness, disease prevention), surgery, ophthalmology, dentistry, dermatology, oncology, internal medicine, radiology, infectious disease detection/management, emergency medicine, and public health. As an undergraduate, she worked for the National Animal Disease Center as a lab technician, gaining experience in food safety and various areas in the biomedical sciences, such as cancer and microbiology research, through data collection in the field, bacterial culture techniques, and molecular techniques (PCR, gel electrophoresis). As part of Cornell's Leadership Program for Veterinary Students, she participated in molecular biomedical research in 2005, studying transcriptional activation related to human breast cancer (utilizing RT-PCR). Dr Truckenbrod is currently an associate veterinarian at a progressive, AAHA-accredited practice and its sister hospital, and joined Edanz Group as an editor in 2013.
