Dr Cason is a cognitive neuroscientist with a passion for interdisciplinary research and publishing. Her editing and research specialties are as follows: the neuroscience of music and language, cognition, brain plasticity, EEG and other brain imaging techniques, auditory neuroscience, clinical neuroscience, Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, Schizophrenia, movement disorders, synchronization, speech, congenital deafness, and speech impairments.
Dr Cason is a published author in the domains of cognitive neuroscience, social psychology, neuropsychology, linguistics, and psychiatric disorders. She is the author of seven published articles (for which she is the first author of four) and one book chapter.
Dr Cason has seven years of professional editing experience. She has worked as a freelance editor, writer, and developmental editor with prestigious publishing companies and journals (e.g. Nature, Macmillan), as well as with several agencies specializing in English-language editing. She joined Edanz Group as an editor in 2018.
Medical Writing Experience
Aside from writing in neuroscience and cognition/psychology, Dr Cason is a medical writer for two major pharmaceutical companies in the field of molecular biology. She is also frequently contracted as a writer in the field of orthodontics, and works as a science journalist periodically.
