Dr James is a biologist with a special interest in cancer. After graduating from the University of London he spent six years as a research associate at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg, Germany working on the molecular biology of vertebrate limb pattern formation. His PhD research investigated the anti-apoptotic mechanisms of activated oncogenes. In his post-doctoral work at the University of Geneva and the University of Manchester he continued to explore the fields of apoptosis and cancer. Then followed a two-year secondment to a pharmaceutical company. Dr James joined the Edanz Group as an editor in 2012.
