Effective communication of research to the public, using appropriate tone and style of English, is becoming more and more important and needs university investment. That was the main message from Edanz Group at a seminar given at the first annual conference of the Research Manager and Administrator Network - Japan (RMANJ), held in Shinshu University, Nagano, on 1 September 2015.

Edanz Group (known as Liwenbianji in China) met with more than 400 postgraduates and early-career researchers during a seminar tour of Beijing from 20 to 29 July 2015.

Edanz Group was invited to give two guest lectures in research communication, on 6 and 7 July 2015, at Nagasaki University, Japan. On 6 July, Dr Andrew Jackson lectured on manuscript writing to the audience of 120 graduate students and early-career researchers, and on 7 July, Dr Trevor Lane lectured on and demonstrated good presentation techniques.
