At the request of Nagasaki University, Edanz Group held two weekend writing workshops for a total of 40 professors of various disciplines at intermediate-to-advanced career level.

On 28-29 November 2015, Dr Trevor Lane and Dr Andrew Jackson helped professoriate staff in the natural sciences (including physics, chemistry, and engineering) to improve their research manuscripts for submission to indexed international academic journals.

Discipline-specific tips were given in how to best prepare and revise research manuscripts and how to decide whether to submit a paper to a disciplinary journal, multidisciplinary journal, or online megajournal. Advice on how to communicate research findings to journal editors and reviewers was also provided, together with hints on mentoring graduate students in publishing their research internationally--especially with the free Edanz e-learning platform Author Academy.

On 12-13 December 2015, Dr Trevor Lane and Dr Kate Harris led a similar workshop for professors in medical, life, and social sciences. The workshop presentations and class activities included bioethical considerations of research publication, as well as the optimal presentation of both biostatistical data and qualitative data.

All attendees found the weekend workshop useful or very useful, and the feedback received was very positive. "It was an excellent workshop," said one participant. "I loved the course materials and how clear and precise the teaching method was."
